Hakomi Principles
(Hah-co-me)
Unity
We live in a participatory universe
We are whole, made up of many parts, in constant interconnectedness, when we are fragmented there is a force that wants to move things towards wholeness.

Organicity

Following your own true nature, simply reminding you of who you are and always have been, not leading but following the organicity, the flow of what is already here.
Mind-Body Holism
The western mind separates mind and body, this has not stood up well in recent understanding of the integrated bi-drectional communication pathway of mind and body and the wholeness of mind-body. Incorporating body wisdom is transformative.
Mindfulness
What sets human beings apart is our capacity to reflect on our own experiences, beliefs, behaviours, patterns. Witnessing with bare attention and loving presence.

Mindfulness is being awake, present, right here in this moment, being here now. The only moment that is potent with opportunity is right here.

Nonviolence
A commitment to not interfere in the process of life but to celebrate the spontaneous, organic intelligence, nourishing and following these moves rather than conquering them. (Johanson& Kurtz 1991)

Fully acknowledging and accepting your experience without an agenda of needing to change things. Nonviolence is active not passive, it is intentional in honouring your process, your pace, your limits as well as my own.
Jen is a student of Hakomi
As a lifelong learner I am always exploring new ways of working and Hakomi principles have become my compass and provide a systems approach to how I provide the holding space to skillfully support self-discovery.

"The goal of therapy is to contact and understand the events which create and maintain the flow of experience itself". Ron Kutz
(Founder of Hakomi)
