Supervision with Jen

Celebrating strengths:

Supervision is an incredibly valuable reflective space to get to know yourself, to know your triggers, your work areas but most importantly to get really clear about your strengths. You have strengths and gifts that support you in your work, we need to talk about them, acknowledge them, build on them and celebrate them as part of our supervision conversations.

Creating a safe space to be brave

“You can’t get to courage without rumbling with vulnerability – embrace the suck” Brene Brown

I aim to create a relationship of trust and commit to providing a non-judgemental space for you to bring your whole self to the conversation. This is about learning, growing, and building capability together. We need to talk about your challenges, the things that are difficult, the things that are hard to talk about. The things you feel less confident about so you can learn and develop new skills. What’s your growing edge?

A reflective practice approach.

Supervision is a space to reflect on your work, your clients, your own wellbeing and explore what you do and why. Reflective practice:

  • Improves learning directly from experience and exploration from the balcony.

  • Explores assumptions and perceptions in our practice.

  • Explores why we do what we do.

  • Explore the theories, knowledge, and experiences that influences our practice.

A learning space.

It requires a certain level of vulnerability for you to actively engage in a reflective practice and learning space. You are always a volunteer in this space. This is a relationship that is a two-way street, and we will both be learning in the process. To learn one needs to bring openness, curiosity and a beginners mind at times.

“In the beginners mind there are many possibilities in the experts mind there are few” The Tao

Strengths Based

We want to explore together what lights you up, what you find effortless, what your core strengths and resources are.

Trauma Informed

We assume that everyone we meet has a history of trauma, so we want to be skilled at a mindful, somatic and trauma responsive approach to all we come in contact with.

Wellbeing focussed

Your wellbeing is a priority. You are the main instrument in your therapeutic work, making sure you are well resources, nourished and have adequate energy to live and work well is important to me.
